Im Jahr 1839 entstand im Ort Etgersleben eine Malzfabrik, die 1898 zur Aktiengesellschaft umgewandelt wurde. Aus der Zeit um 1900 stammt wohl auch die vorliegende Druckgrafik. Die Kunstanstalt Eckert & Pflug gründete sich im 19. Jahrhundert in Leipzig und fokussierte sich auf die Anfertigung großformatiger Fabrikaufnahmen. Die Fabrik ist heute Ruine. Bezeichnet im Druck: "Eckert & Pflug, Kunstanstalt, Leipzig.", darunter mittig: "MALZFABRIK ETGERSLEBEN AKT.-GES. ETGERSLEBEN & MAGDEBURG-BUCKAU".
